Icelandics are a multi purpose breed having the very best wool for spinning and weaving in many beautiful natural colors including black, brown, silver, cream, white and multicolor.  They produce mild flavored gourmet meat as well as milk and cheese.  Their large rumens and origins from a non-grain producing country have resulted in spring lambs that will grow and fatten quickly on a grass-only diet.  I love these sheep!  They require no de-horning, horns being actually preferred by many breeders and thanks to there naturally tiny little tails require no tail-docking as in other sheep.
I found however, I love these sheep far too much to eat them!   My Icelandics have been sold all but my 3 favorite ewes, that will stay here as my little spinning flock.
